Anna Rydén

Organisations Under Change;
Are all Changes Needed?

By Anna Rydén

Here we go again, a new management and a new organisation...

Performance is good but not as good as expected, we will address it with the new organisation…

We are in a transformation phase and we need to adjust to the strategy with a reorganisation…

But do we really? Are we addressing the real reasons why we need to reorganise and change? Do we need a reorganisation to make changes? Are we allowing enough time for an organisation to settle in order to see the desired results? Are we following-up and checking that we are reaching the desired results? What are the desired results? The questions can go on and on.

The answer to the question in the title is simple: change is inevitable and for one reason or another all changes are needed. The question is how companies are dealing with the effect of reorganisation and change in practice.
Most of us know something about change management theory that deals with how to implement change; there are tons of books, courses, online-tutoring, academic reports and more about change management, organisational changes, leadership under change and so forth. There are also big companies, small companies and self-employed gaining their livelihood from change management. But are any of them actually looking beyond the theory and really looking at what the effect of change is? Yes, a few but not as many as should be doing so.

This workshop is not about reorganisation and change management theory. Instead it is about the effect of reorganisation and change. Anna Rydén will try to answer some of the questions she has and to share some of her ideas about effective reorganisations as well as engage you in the discussion to share your experiences.

All you need is an open mind and some time.

About Anna

Anna Rydén is self-employed and currently starting up a business that will offer products and services in the well being sector. Anna recently left the telecommunication industry after 20 years seeing the rise, the fall and the consolidation of the industry. She has held various management positions where she has gained experience of organisational changes and change management by being one of the middle managers tasked to execute the reorganisations.

Anna is taking this opportunity in the Imagination Club to try out some of the ideas and questions she has about effective reorganisations.
