Workshop: Understanding and Surviving Overwhelm

By Andy Whittle

Brussels: 12 November 2025

The feeling of overwhelm is a psychological state where an individual perceives that the demands placed upon them—whether from work, personal life, or external events—tax or exceed their ability to cope successfully. It's more than just being stressed; it's a profound feeling of being flooded, submerged, or inundated by thoughts, tasks, and emotions to the point where the nervous system and psyche struggle to manage. Our cognitive space contracts when we are drained of resources. It is a combination of everything that is going on for us in our lives.

Andy will talk you through what overwhelm is and guide you through some of the top ways we can combat overwhelm for ourselves.
