Workshop: Trauma? What Trauma?

An Antroduction to Complex Trauma and Approaches to Healing

By Anita Sheehan

Brussels: 8 May 2024

There has been increased awareness and interest around trauma in recent years. But what is trauma? What is the difference between acute and chronic trauma -- also referred to as developmental or complex trauma? And how can each manifest itself in our daily lives? How can we heal and build resilience to overcome unhelpful strategies that we have formed as a result of traumatic experiences?

In this workshop we will cover a bit of theory on the topic, followed by interactive exercises to integrate some of the insights.

You can expect to come away with:

Building such awareness can be the first step to undoing the many adverse childhood experiences that we may have lived through.

About Anita Sheehan

Anita has had multiple careers in her life. Throughout her various occupations, she has been a keen observer of human behavior and interactions. This led her to train and work as a life coach and facilitator for the past 12 years. In her work, she noticed that many clients are struggling with issues that go beyond the cognitive level. She stumbled upon NARM (NeuroAffective Relational Model), a psychobiological approach to healing intergenerational and developmental trauma, also called Complex PTSD. Combining coaching and trauma healing approaches is what makes her heart sing.
