Workshop: Creating Safe spaces for Thriving Relationships
By Nasim Hashemi
Brussels: 23 October 2024
Looking through the lens of somatic psychology, we’ll look into what it takes to create safe spaces to enhance our relationships in all walks of life.
Somatic psychology focuses on the mind-body connection, emphasising how trauma, stress and emotions are stored and processed through the body. From this viewpoint, creating supportive environments also means addressing our body’s experience of safety (we’ll dive into what this means in an experiential way during our workshop). We’ll be exploring key principles of trauma-informed care such as safety; trust; choice; collaboration and empowerment; and how they show up in our (personal and professional) relationships. Participants will learn strategies that nurture trust and psychological safety.
By integrating these principles into your daily lives, see how your relationships bloom and gain in depth, and how this in turn impacts your wellbeing! The workshop will be interactive, allowing questions and real-life practices to deepen your understanding of the topic explored.
- You can expect to take away from this workshop...
- A better understanding of what a safe space means, from a trauma informed lens.
- How we can relate to one another differently when we create safety in our relationships and why it matters.
Experiencing how it feels in your soma (in your bodily experience) to create new, safe connections By creating more safe spaces in our lives and with those on our paths, peace ripples out into the world through each of us.
