Workshop: How to Deal with Stress

Workshop aim
- The workshop enables participants to consider stress at an individual and organisational level. It helps participants develop and implement effective strategies for preventing and managing stress.
- There are lots of opportunities to relate the content to the participants’ own environments, and to consider a range of practical stress management techniques that can help them move forward.
Target audience
- This is designed as an inclusive course accessible to everyone.
Objectives
By the end of this workshop, the participants will have:
- Defined what stress is and started to recognise the signs of stress.
- Understood the impact that stress can have on daily life.
- Explored some tools and techniques to avoid triggering stress, and to improve well-being and professional productivity.
Programme
Introduction
- Introduction to stress. Remember a stressed brain does not learn in the same way!
- What is stress?
- How does the body and brain react under stress?
Recognising the signs and symptoms of stress
- The four sources of stress – emotional, mental, physiological and behavioural.
- The long term effects of stress.
- Identifying your own unique stress map.
- Get active: Practical activities and facilitated group discussions.
Stress management toolkit
- Review of current stress management techniques being used by the group.
- Coping strategies and tips for managing stress.
- Get active: Small group exercise with peer feedback and group discussion, individual questionnaire and exercise (role play).

About Gulay Yildizli
Gulay is a passionate and positive person who has always been curious and intuitive with people. Coaching is a discipline that requires us to be driven by human values, empathy, and deep integrity. Gulay's desire to help others in their life path is what inspires her. She am proud to be accredited and a member of EMCC (European Mentoring & Coaching Council).
Gulay has had 20 years of experience in finance, across several sectors. Over the past couple of decades, she have worked in positions such as Finance Manager and Head of the Accounting Department. She has gained deep insights into coaching and developing teams in Finance that provides the foundation to her current practice.
Gulay's approach
Gulay applies what is called a "neuroscience cognitive" approach to coaching. She uses a holistic approach that looks to empower clients to achieve their goals. Gulay believes that each person is unique and always tailor her tools and techniques to meet the specific needs, learning style and context of that individual.
