Workshop: Living with Alzheimer's - a Personal View

From 1946 to 1964 was the height of the Baby Boom. Today that large cohort of babies has grown old and as a result Alzheimer’s disease is flourishing. Many of us will experience the disease personally, or through a family member or a loved one. And it is likely to change their lives drastically!

In this workshop Patrice will share his experience of Living with Alzheimer’s, both as a child of someone with the disease as well as someone with the disease. Specifically, we will look at

• The stages of the disease

• What it is like to live with the disease
.

• How it affects relationships
.

• Patrice's coping strategies, successes, and failures.

About Patrice van de Walle

Patrice Was born in Burundi from Belgian parents and grew up in the USA, with summers in Europe. He has four master’s degrees, has worked for USAID, Columbia in Pictures in India and as a psychotherapist. He is now retired and busy writing a book on living with Alzheimer’s, which he hopes to finish with his last breath.
