Workshop: How To Listen To Your Body: A Journey Towards Self-Acceptance
By Borana Taraj
Brussels: 22 January 2025
During this workshop, you will learn how to be aware of our bodies and to listen to the physical signals that the body is sending us such as through discomfort or easiness. The interconnectedness of body and mind will be explored.
We will go beyond the idea of "perfect body" or "dream body". You will learn how you could live with our body as it is and to accept its beauty and uniqueness.
During the workshop, we will ask ourselves several key questions such as:
- Are you listening to your body? What does your body say about your emotions?
- What does your body say about your inner discomfort or physical limitations?
- What signals is it trying to send you to indicate too much stress, family pressure, societal pressure, etc.?
- Can you detect chronic fatigue, the emergence of aches and pains, persistent cramps or headaches before it's too late?
- What does your body say about your deepest desires? Can you feel your sighs of tension release or your spontaneous smile? When do you feel satisfied, full of gratitude and in tune with yourself and your deepest desires?
This workshop is based on self-exploration and experiential learning through different forms of expression, such as writing or other forms of artistic expression through body movement and space exploration.
