Workshop: How to Coach Yourself
By Andy Whittle
Brussels, 9 September 2026
A live, interactive evening for anyone who's ever needed a good question more than good advice.
We all know that voice, the one that talks us out of things, wakes us up at 2am, or keeps us circling the same decision for months. Most of us never learned how to talk back to it. Coaches like me spend years learning how to ask the questions that cut through that noise for other people. This workshop is about learning to ask them for yourself.
In roughly 90 minutes, you'll get to actually practise some self-coaching. You'll leave with a simple framework you can use the next time you're stuck, a way to spot the difference between your inner critic and your inner coach, and the experience of what it feels like to be really listened to, and to really listen.
Whether you're brand new to this world, or you already work in coaching or HR and want a fresh, practical way to bring these ideas into a room, this session is designed to meet you where you are.
By the end of the evening, you'll walk away with:
- A simple 4-question framework you can use on yourself, anytime, for any stuck decision or spiral
- A clearer sense of the difference between your "inner critic" and your "inner coach", and how to switch between them
- First-hand experience of what a well-asked question can do, from both sides of the conversation
Why self-coaching matters:
- It puts you back in the driver's seat of your own thinking, instead of waiting for clarity to arrive.
- It's free, it's portable, and it works at 2am when no one else is around.
- It builds a habit of curiosity toward yourself instead of judgment
- It's often the first step toward recognising where deeper support - coaching, therapy, or simply a good conversation - could help even more
No experience needed. Just bring something real you're currently sitting with, and an open mind.
