Workshop: For(R)est: The Impact of Trees on Our Health and Well-Being
By Nadine Krysostan
Brussels: 14 May 2025
We all know that getting out into nature feels good — but there’s more to it than just fresh air. During the past 10-15 years researchers uncovered fascinating facts about the profound impact of nature, especially forests, on our bodies and minds. From lowering stress and boosting our immune system to helping us feel more balanced and alive, forests play a vital role in our well-being. Yet, we witness an increasing disconnect from nature at the expense of our health and quality of life. This workshop is an invitation to experience nature differently, through our senses, and feel its astonishing impact on us.
In this workshop you will:
- Discover how nature fosters our physical and mental well-being.
- Receive an introduction to the practice of forest bathing (Shinrin-yoku) and experience how nature can help us relax and regenerate.
- Learn simple, effective practices to ground yourself in the natural world.
- Take home tips to bring more nature into your daily life.
About Nadine Krysostan
Nadine is a certified forest bathing guide for adults, children, and teens. After over 15 years working in international policy and development, she shifted gears after a challenging time in her own life. Having experienced first-hand how deeply restorative time in the forest can be, sparked her passion to accompany people to (re)connect with nature. In 2024, she founded Forest Experience, offering guided forest bathing tours for individuals, groups and teams. Nadine is convinced that slowing down and really feeling the forest not only deepens our connection to nature and enhances our well-being - it can also motivate us to protect and safeguard it for future generations.
