You are warmly welcome to join us at the Imagination Club on Wednesday, 8 April 2015 at 18h45 for an interactive, experimental workshop on: The Power of Appreciative JournalingIn this workshop we will discover the power of journaling. Journaling is an ancient tradition. Throughout history, people have kept journals and diaries. There is increasing research to support the idea that journaling has a positive effect on personal wellbeing and provides a range of unexpected benefits. Indeed, as a means of achieving happiness, keeping a journal is one of the activities that yields the best results for the relatively little time and effort. The act of writing accesses the left brain, which is analytical and rational. While your left brain is occupied, your right brain is free to create, be intuitive and feel. Recording things in your journal can help remove mental blocks. It allows you to use all your brain power and strengths to better understand yourself, others and the world around you. In this workshop we will: • Find out the benefits of journaling and explore these benefits • Brainstorm on various ways of journaling and have you choose the one that suits you best • Put into practice a few of your chosen methods We will also explore ways of including a positive slant into our journaling practice based on the adage that “What we give attention to grows.” NotePlease bring a notebook that you would like to use for journaling. About Anita SheehanAnita’s passion is to help individuals and organizations discover the best in themselves and empower them to SOAR, based on their existing gifts, their talents and their skills. Journaling is one of the tools that can be a useful for self-discovery, the first step on the road to “kicking butt” and conquering the world.
